Culinary Training ProgramSecond Helpings Launching Updated Culinary Training PROGRAM

The Second Helpings Culinary Job Training program prepares unemployed and underemployed adults for careers in the food service industry. Second Helpings is currently recruiting students for the October and December cohorts of their updated program. Responding to feedback about why past students have had difficulty completing the program, the program now features shorter daily class hours and is structured in modules that will allow students who must step away from the program to re-start later. Additional modules with general job skills training, a new paid internship component for students who need additional experience before moving into a full-time position, elimination of the drug testing requirement, and coordination with the Culinary Arts program at Ivy Tech make this updated program even more helpful for those looking to get started in the hospitality industry.

There will be two info sessions where you’ll have an opportunity to interview for the program immediately following. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required to attend and ID is required to interview. Info sessions will be held Wednesday, September 21st 1-2 pm, and Thursday, September 22nd 10-11 am.
