Do you have a great idea to benefit the Indy food system? Neighborhood Food Champions combines leadership, education, and program support to make your idea a reality. And there is still time to apply!

A Neighborhood Food Champion is an individual seeking to create opportunities for their community to improve its food security and access.
Each Neighborhood Food Champion will receive comprehensive training to sustain a community-based project and a project award for your food-related project.
The program starts February 15th - consecutive Tuesday evenings, 6:30 pm, via Zoom.
Participation in this program requires:
Interest in the food issues of your community.
Attend a weekly 2-hour workshop for 12 weeks.
Identified food-related projects to work with.
16 and older (Under 18 must have permission from a guardian).
Proposal submission after 12 weeks of workshops.
Submit a final report at the end of the program.
A presentation to other participants in the program and members of the community.
Completion of a W-9 Form.
Must be a resident in Marion County, Indianapolis.
We are looking for individuals who have ideas that:
Demonstrate an innovative and creative approach to long term solutions to address equitable food access
Demonstrate a connection with residents and organizations in their neighborhood
A clear understanding of what food access and food insecurity looks like in their neighborhood
