The BEET: Back to School Nutrition Resource

With the return to school some parents may be looking for ways to encourage their kids to eat healthier meals and ideas for quick and easy meals for the whole family. The USDA Team Nutrition page offers a variety of resources. Team Nutrition Cooks is a series of cooking-based activities centered around a kid-friendly recipe with complimentary activity guides and skills videos. Recipes for Healthy Kids is a kid-friendly cookbook featuring foods that both children and adults should eat more of: dark green and orange vegetables, dry beans and peas, and whole grains. The Multicultural Child Care Recipes offers 40 kid friendly recipes with flavors from different cultures and regions. These recipes are a great way to introduce variety into your diet.
